A reinforced Turbo Poly Seal repair is built while the first coat is still wet. Cut the fleece first, stir the sealant thoroughly, and work in manageable sections so the fabric can be embedded before a skin forms.

What to check first

  • Mix until the color is uniform.
  • Fit the fleece to the detail before applying sealant.
  • Cover the fabric completely so neither white fibers nor its weave remain exposed.

Turbo Poly Seal: a practical application sequence

  1. Confirm compatibility and prepare

Use current Bergstrom instructions for the substrate. Turbo Poly Seal is not for direct EPDM, glass, or silicone surfaces. Remove loose or failing material and clean and dry the bonding area fully.

  2. Mix and apply the base coat

Stir until the product is uniform brown, including any green layer. Do not thin. For a reinforced seam repair, brush the base coat slightly wider than the specified fleece.

  3. Embed and saturate the fleece

Embed the fleece while the base coat is wet, before a skin forms. Apply the top coat while wet until the fleece is saturated and no weave or dry fibers remain. Follow the current detail for width, overlaps, weather, cure, and protective finish.
