EPDM is synthetic rubber; modified bitumen is asphalt based. Both can form useful roof systems, but they are not interchangeable surfaces for a liquid repair product.

What to check first

  • Identify the exposed surface and any coating.
  • Use EPDM-compatible repair guidance for EPDM.
  • Check current Turbo Poly Seal instructions for compatible modified-bitumen details.

Compare the roof and the repair, not just the label

  1. Identify the complete system

Find out which membrane is present, whether it is coated, and what repairs have already been applied. These details determine the actual bonding surface.

  2. Compare the scope and limitations

Ask what will be repaired, what underlying damage will be investigated, and what remains outside the proposed work. No single product corrects every roof defect.

  3. Check current instructions

Use the published compatibility, preparation, application, and safety information for the selected product. Keep subsequent repairs in the same system; follow removal instructions before switching.
